Medical Insurance

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group offers medical insurance through our selected insurance carrier. Our goal is to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage that supports your wellbeing and gives you peace of mind.

Plan Options

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group offers a comprehensive medical plan option(s):

• PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plan with in-network and out-of-network coverage
• Coverage for preventive care, office visits, hospitalization, prescription drugs, and emergency services
• Access to a broad network of healthcare providers

Cost Sharing

• Company contribution: 75% of the premium
• Employee contribution: 25% of the premium through payroll deductions

Eligibility

You become eligible for medical insurance coverage on your first day of employment. Coverage extends to:

• You
• Your spouse or domestic partner
• Your dependent children up to age 26

Enrollment

You can enroll in medical coverage:

• When first eligible as a new employee
• During annual open enrollment (typically in November)
• Within 30 days of a qualifying life event (such as marriage, birth of a child, or loss of other coverage)

Dental Insurance

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group provides dental insurance through our dental insurance carrier to help you maintain good dental health.

Coverage

• Preventive services: 100% coverage for routine exams, cleanings, and x-rays
• Basic services: 80% coverage for fillings, extractions, and root canals
• Major services: 50% coverage for crowns, bridges, and dentures
• Annual maximum benefit: $1,500 per person
• Deductible: $50 individual / $150 family

Cost

• Company contribution: 100% of the premium
• Employee contribution: 0% of the premium

Dental coverage eligibility and enrollment periods match those of our medical insurance program.

Vision Insurance

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group offers vision insurance through our vision insurance carrier to help cover the cost of eye exams and vision correction.

Coverage

• Eye exams: Covered once every 12 months
• Eyeglass frames: $150 allowance every 24 months
• Eyeglass lenses: Covered once every 12 months
• Contact lenses: $150 allowance every 12 months
• Additional discounts on lens options and laser vision correction

Cost

• Company contribution: 100% of the premium
• Employee contribution: 0% of the premium

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group Financial Benefits

Retirement Plan

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group offers a retirement plan to help employees save for their future financial security.

Plan Type

Our retirement plan is a 401(k) administered by our retirement plan provider.

Contributions

• Employee contributions: You may contribute up to the IRS annual limit through convenient payroll deductions.
• Company match: The Counsel Knowledge Law Group matches 100% of your contributions up to 6% of your eligible compensation.

Vesting

You are always 100% vested in your own contributions. Company matching contributions vest according to this schedule:

• 25% after 1 year, 50% after 2 years, 75% after 3 years, 100% after 4 years

Eligibility

You become eligible to participate in the retirement plan after 30 days of employment.

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group Time Off Benefits

Paid Time Off (PTO)

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group provides paid time off to allow employees to rest, recharge, and attend to personal matters.

PTO Allowance

Full-time employees receive 15 days of paid time off per calendar year. PTO accrues at the rate of 1.25 days per month.

Your PTO allowance is prorated based on your start date during your first year at The Counsel Knowledge Law Group.

Rollover Policy

Unused PTO days roll over from year to year, up to a maximum balance of 25 days.

Requesting Time Off

To request time off, please notify your manager with reasonable advance notice and ensure your responsibilities are covered during your absence.

PTO Upon Termination

If you leave The Counsel Knowledge Law Group, you will be paid for any unused, accrued PTO.

Holidays

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group observes the following 10 paid holidays each year:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Day after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve

When a holiday falls on a weekend, it will typically be observed on the nearest weekday.

Family and Medical Leave

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group provides family and medical leave in accordance with applicable laws and to support employees during important life events.

Parental Leave

• Primary caregiver: 12 weeks of paid leave at 100% of regular pay
• Secondary caregiver: 4 weeks of paid leave at 100% of regular pay

This leave must be taken within 12 months of the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child.

Medical Leave

Employees may take up to 12 weeks of leave for their own serious health condition, with short-term disability benefits available during this time.

Family Care Leave

Employees may take up to 12 weeks of leave to care for a family member with a serious health condition. This leave may be partially paid depending on circumstances and applicable laws.

Eligibility

Employees become eligible for family and medical leave after 12 months of employment.

Additional Time Off

Bereavement Leave

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group provides 5 days of paid leave following the death of an immediate family member and 3 days for extended family.

Jury Duty

Employees called for jury duty will receive full pay for up to 10 days while serving.

Voting Time

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group encourages civic participation and provides up to 2 hours of paid time off to vote when polls are not open outside working hours.

The Counsel Knowledge Law Group provides a one-time stipend of $500 to help set up your home workspace when you join the company.
